A web portal devoted to S&T cooperation between Europe and China in the field of Information and Communication Technologies

EU-funded Projects

As already outlined in the Background Info section, a number of EU-funded projects aiming at strengthening S&T cooperation between the EU and China in the ICT field have been initiated and supported over the last years by the European Commission within the scope of the EU Framework Programmes for Research and Technological Development.

Below are listed past or ongoing EU-funded R&D projects in the ICT area in which Chinese organisations, based in China, have been or are participating. Only projects launched under FP5, FP6 or FP7 are listed here.

Under FP5:
Over the period 2000-2002, 10 IST projects including 19 Chinese partners (some projects counting several Chinese partners) have been realised.

Under FP6:
Between 2003-2007, 49 additional IST projects with Chinese participation have been launched, including 105 Chinese partners.

Under FP7:
Even more ICT projects addressing EU-China cooperation are of course expected to be selected under the recently initiated FP7 programme (2007-2013).
